Marblehead Festival of Art Introduces Collectible Hestia Ornament at Annual Art Auction
Marblehead, MA (April 16, 2007) - The Marblehead Festival of Arts announced today that it commissioned Hestia Creations to craft an ornament based on the 2007 festival logo. Designed by Marblehead artist Matt Byers, the 2007 logo depicts a rower in Marblehead Harbor with the lighthouse at Chandler Hovey Park in the background. A limited edition of 250 ornaments will be produced; the signed artist’s proof (original design #1) of the logo ornament will be auctioned off at the Festival’s Annual Art Auction on Saturday evening, April 28, 2007 at Abbot Hall (188 Washington Street) in Marblehead.
The decision to commission a Hestia Creations ornament depicting the festival logo grew out of the recognition of the popularity of both Hestia’s AmeriScape ornaments and the Marblehead Festival of Arts’ logo products. “Once the idea was presented, the board got very excited about creating an ornament. The anticipation of the first Marblehead Festival of Arts commissioned Hestia Creations ornament is palpable,” said festival president Christine Kepko. “People just can’t wait to see one in person. Hestia’s custom work is always lovely, and what their artists created for us is truly exceptional.” Ornaments will be available for sale at the Marblehead Festival of Arts booth at the first Marblehead Farmers’ Marker on June 16, when the Festival will be the community host.
“Hestia is honored to create the first of what we hope will be the annual Marblehead Festival of Arts ornament depicting the yearly winning logo,” said Joanne D’Alessandro, president of Hestia Creations. “We are very excited that the first ornament in the edition will be featured in the Marblehead Festival of Art Auction on April 28th.”
