Swampscott Collection
Swampscott, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, is a former summer resort on the Massachusetts Bay, with an interesting history. Swampscott has had many famous residents in its history, including Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the Christian Scientists, Leslie Stahl of TV’s “60 Minutes”, Walter Brennan of “The Real McCoys” and a myriad of sports, music and movie celebrities.
It is also where the lobster pot was invented in 1808, and the Swampscott Dory, a fishing boat still in use today to row and pull lobster boats, was first developed. Swampscott’s beautiful Monument Avenue was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who designed New York’s Central Park. But what most people don’t know is that if it weren’t for two residents of Swampscott, there would be no Marshmallow Fluff.
Introducing hand-crafted gifts and collectibles with a Swampscott, MA theme.
